No More Something Sinister

Zeli6, Jun 19, 12 9:19 AM.
Since we've switched servers, we've decided not to recreate Something Sinister.

If we wanted you to come with us, we would have posted contact information here:

Sanctum of the Exalted --> The Ebon Hawk

Zeli6, Jun 13, 12 12:11 PM.

Round 3 of Server Transfers are Now Available

Sanctum of the Exalted --> The Ebon Hawk (RP-PVE East)

INFORMATION : http://www.swtor.com/transfer

Begin your transfer now!

To start the character transfer process, login to your account, click My Account and then click Character Transfers in the left hand menu. From there you will be able to select Start a Character Transfer and see if you have any characters eligible for transfer to selected servers.

By transferring a character, you are moving them from an origin server to a destination server. Your character will no longer be available to play on your origin server, but will be available for continued play on your destination server. There are some limitations on what is transferred with your character, and you may be required to rename your characters on arrival to your destination server due to potentially conflicting character or Legacy names.

Character Transfers, Something Sinister and You

Zeli6, Jun 7, 12 6:59 AM.
all the info :  http://www.swtor.com/blog/character-transfer-server-populations-and-you

…Therefore, we made the decision to strictly limit the initial phase of the Character Transfer Service to only allow transfers from selected groups of origin servers (where you're moving a character from) to selected individual destination servers (where you choose to move a character to) based on the player populations of the origin and destination servers. In some cases, a large number of origin servers will be eligible to move to a single destination server. In others, very few origin servers will be transferring to existing high population destination servers. Remember, the goal here is to push almost every destination server to an active population that's higher. We're sure many of you are interested to learn which servers are eligible for outgoing transfers and which servers are eligible to receive transfers. However, because the process will be gradual, we cannot provide that information in advance. […] Listings will become available as servers become eligible for transfer. […] You will not find your PvE characters transferred to a PvP server, or vice versa! There are also some restrictions to this character transfer process, which will be more fully detailed in a forthcoming FAQ. For those who have unlocked Legacy abilities, your Legacy will be transferred to your new server and your unlocks will be available there too. If you have already unlocked your Legacy on your destination server, the higher level Legacy will take precedence. For guild members and masters, you will not be able to transfer your guild as a whole to your new server; instead you will need to reform it. […] If your transferred character’s name conflicts with an existing name on a destination server, you will be asked to rename your character. In the case of Legacy names, unless you have unlocked your Legacy on your destination server, you will need to rename your Legacy upon transfer (although you may pick the same Legacy name as on your origin server, if available). We understand that some of you may be looking to consolidate characters from a variety of origin servers onto one server, and others may be anxious to move to a specific server to be with friends. With the restrictions of this initial service, that may not be possible. We still believe that you will enjoy playing on a higher population server and hope you'll take advantage of the service, but you won't be forced to transfer. Future versions of the Character Transfer Service may allow more options in your choice of destination servers and may require a transfer fee. We're in the final stretch of testing the service, and our release is now June 12th, 2012. Game Update 1.3 will be along not too long afterwards.

Short of it:
  1. If our server get's a transfer option. Take it.
  2. They are choosing the destination servers. We do not get to pick.
  3. You may need to change your character name if one already exists on the new server.
  4. You will have to reassign your Legacy name once on the new server. You can choose a new one or attempt to get the one you had as long as no one on the new server already has it.
  5. Our guild doesn't transfer. We'd have to reform. I probably won't bother. Discuss that [here]
  6. Those of you with other characters on PvP servers and such... you won't be getting the option to go to our new server at this time. They may allow paid transfers in the future.
  7. There's a chance we'll be a destination server. In that case, we do nothing! We wait to find out.

SWTOR:F2P215

Zeli6, Jun 4, 12 6:40 PM.

Announced at E3 today, in July SWTOR will be free to play until level 15. The update will also include a new world, Makeb, new end-game content, new level-cap, new space combat mission, new playable species, Cathar, and a new companion, HK-51, a new warzone, new abilities... Finally, a way to get those "on the fence" friends into the mix.

It'll also be great for my son. I won't buy him an account, but like in WAR, he enjoys having his own free account that allows him to play with us sometimes. We just got SWTOR loaded up on his PC so it's good timing for us.

I have no desire to play  Cathar... kinda bummed that it wasn't Wookie, Mon Calamari, Nautolan, Selkath, or I don't know if they fit in the timeline but Mrlissi and Herglic would be cool too. I'm not exactly blown away by any of the announcement but of course, even having newness is good news... and it's good to have good news after all the bad vibes going around SWTOR lately.

Guild Discussion on Server Transfers

Zeli6, May 23, 12 12:21 PM.

We don't have any details on this transfer system yet. As announced earlier this week, we do know that they will have character transfers rolling out in early summer, and will have free transfers from/to specific servers. We should find out sometime next month if we're one of them. Until then, guild discussion on server transfers can be found here: Server Transfer Discussion.

SWTOR Team Layoffs

Zeli6, May 22, 12 2:09 PM.
It's always difficult to hear about layoffs, and it's made even more sad when you consider it seems like an industry norm for MMOs a few months after a launch. We get attached to our MMO-of-choice and feel a connection to those who work so hard to create and improve it. Wishing the best of luck to those affected.

Hey folks, since you’re reading this you may likely have heard that we’ve done some restructuring here on the SWTOR team. Sadly, we are bidding farewell to some talented, passionate and exceptionally hard-working people who helped make SWTOR a reality. Impacting people’s lives this way is always very hard, but we’re ensuring the affected people are treated with dignity, fairness and respect.

Looking back at launch, we all came together and did something historic. We executed one of the largest, most successful and stable launches of any MMO yet in industry history. That is not an easy feat for any development team or company and we are humbled and honored by our fan community’s strong support both at launch and beyond.

Looking forward, the studio remains vibrant and passionate about our many upcoming initiatives for Star Wars: The Old Republic. We still have a very substantial development team working on supporting and growing the game, and we feel we are in a strong position, with your continued involvement and feedback, to continue to build Star Wars: The Old Republic as one of the most compelling and successful online experiences in the world today. There are many strong initiatives planned for cool new content and new features that we’re excited to tell you about in the upcoming weeks and months.

Rest assured that we remain dedicated to delivering a high quality service in SWTOR to you, our fans, and we will continue to support and grow Star Wars: The Old Republic over the weeks, months and years to come.

Thanks,
Greg and Ray
